Polish Pensions for Holocaust Victims of Polish Origin



The World Jewish Restitution Organization (WJRO) wishes to inform Holocaust victims who were Polish citizens at the time of the Holocaust that they may be eligible for monthly payments of about PLN 300 (approximately $100) from the Polish government. The WJRO will update this webpage as it obtains more information from the Polish government about how individuals can apply for these payments.


World Jewish Restitution Organization (WJRO) Svjetska židovska organizacija za restituciju  želi obavijestiti osobe koje su preživjele Holokaust a  bili su u vrijeme Holokausta poljski građani da imaju pravo na mjesečnu naknadu od oko PLN 300 ( oko 100$) od Poljske vlade. WJRO će te obavijesti staviti na svoju WEB stranicu čim doibije više obavijesti od poljske vlade kako se može aplicirati za to plaćanje.



14.ožujka 2014. je Poljska donijela zakon kojim olakšava preživjelim Holokausta,   koji imaju potrebne uvjete,  a sada žive izvan Poljske,  da se jave za mjesečnu penziju. Predsjednik Poljske je potpisao zakon  4. travnja 2014, a promjene će  postati pravomoćne nakon 6 do 12 mjeseci od donošenja zakona.

The Office for War Veterans and Victims of Oppression is the Polish government body that administers the pensions. The office’s website has information about filing an application. The Legislation on War Veterans and Victims of War and Post-War Oppression provides for a monthly pension for individuals who:


were detained by the Nazis in ghettos, prisons, concentration camps, extermination camps, or similar places of detention;

were forcibly deported to the Soviet Union;

served in the Polish military, the Polish units of the Allied militaries, or in the Polish underground during the Second World War; or

otherwise are considered a veteran or a victim of oppression....


The WJRO works to attain restitution of private property and Jewish communal property seized during the Holocaust in all countries other than Germany and Austria. The WJRO, working together with local Jewish communities, negotiates with governments to reach agreements and procure legislation concerning such restitution.
